Saturday morning Mil picked me up at 7.30 am to bring me to the airport together with my new boss ML Figley and Bart Dewolf. Flight from Brussels to New York was supposed to leave at 10.15h, around 11.00 we took off...wings had to be deiced. Our entertainment programm did not work properly, in the beginning it did not work at all, finally it worked but without sound. Although we were not complaining they offered both of us a $150 voucher for booking a next flight.
With a little delay we arrived at JFK! It took me almost an hour to get through customs, ML was waiting patiently for me. Too many Russians willing to enter the US. Normally we had plenty of time for the connection flight but everything went that slow that we were almost running out of time. But when we finally arrived at the gate, we saw that the flight from JFK to Denver was delayed with 1,5 hour. But as compensation we got a $10 voucher for any bar/restaurant at the airport and free soft drinks and snacks. After some food getting back to the gate and finding out flight got an extra delay of one hour...so we left JFK around 6.30 pm. In the meantime ML had Beth booking a hotel for us in Denver, while the I25 was closed due snow storm. After arriving in Denver and waiting for an hour for the baggage, we got around 11.15 pm at the hotel. This has been a long day!

So Sunday morning after breakfast we drove from Denver to Colorado Springs. Icey roads, a constant view on snowy mountains on the west side...this is a beautiful spot, but OMG very cold!!!
Around 11.00 am I checked in at Homewood Suites, my home for a week. And probably my home for another 3 weeks at the end of April.
Today I was gonna look up some appartments/houses on the internet to visit within the upcoming week. I also checked out the shopping area next to the Homewood Suites. Bought my first item (not for me) in the Apple store, and I'm sure it want be the last one :-).
For dinner a Bison steak, oh my god is that delicious. I'm sure I'll have some more of these :-).
End of the weekend, tomorrow meeting the new colleagues, visiting houses, finding out what the upcoming summer will bring, ... I'm convinced that this week will be over way too fast!

Monday...my first day at Stageco US! I was picked by Mary-Lou around 8.00 am, now it could really start. Arriving at the office, meeting my new colleagues, installing myself, ... Then around 10.00 am my first monday morning meeting to see what the upcoming summer will bring.
After that I left the office with Casey to check out the area and to look for some apartments. Sun was out in the meantime and heating up. We did a small tourist trip, great!
Finally we got back to the office around 5.00 pm!
In the evening a nice Italian restaurant, and finding out that in the US everything is bigger...so I got a real big plate of Carpaccio :-). I like!!!

I'm ready for my 2nd day at Stageco US office!
