Hello Everyone,

A bit of a cheesy title, I know, but this week is a week that I am reminded of the challenges I am capable of overcoming.

Since last Saturday night I have been struggling with a viral infection, virtually bed-ridden for 4 days. But despite any illness I couldn't bear to let it postpone the construction in Cangumbang any further. On Tuesday I forced myself to meet with the Architects in Cangumbang and complete the final assessment as well as sign the contract for the Center's repairs. Today I was able to meet with the Architects again and Ate Wimwim (VFV's Director) to finalize everything and hand over the first batch of funds to purchase materials.

Now, if everything goes as planned, we will be literally chipping away at the center's repairs on Monday, beginning with the deconstruction of the back wall.

As we handed over the first allotment of funds to the Architects, who have been an incredible blessing thanks to my beloved Ate Hilda, I was overwhelmed by the pure physical generosity before me. The ability to repair our center without worrying about budget limitations or financial issues is unbelievable. I am so extremely blessed to have been provided with such a great support network.

The children are eagerly anticipating the end of the school year, shouting graduation dates or exam dates to me left and right. Homes are being constructed already, more than 10 CRS home projects are underway. I began ballet lessons with the kids last weekend and they couldn't' keep the giggles in. The sun is shining more and more each day, warming everyone's skin and revealing yet again the true beauty of the Philippines, and especially Cangumbang.

Enjoy some amazing photos by Ardie Lopez, who was our photographer during a Relief/Charity Event last December. So much has changed since these photos, but the emotions, good and bad, will remain forever. And also check out some photos from this week in Cangumbang.

Thanks!!
