Hello Everyone,

It is too soon for more. The wind and rain are picking up as yet another tropical storm heads our way. Though still a low category typhoon, a level 2 in the southern part of Leyte and a level 1 here in Tacloban, anxiety levels are high and people are doing their best not to panic. Darkness has fallen and we are reminded of our vulnerability. This is not a matter of physical survival but more one of emotional survival. How much can one island of people take in a 6 month period? With reconstruction still only slowly progressing, people are in worse shape than they were before the storm no doubt. It is unfortunate that this area is so prone to severe weather, but this is home for thousands of people. They have grown up their, completed their education, started families and businesses, shared unforgettable memories, and spent their entire lives melting in to life here. I have to admit I too feel determined to not let anything stop be from staying here. No matter the stress, or anxiety of another storm, or pain of loss around me, there is always more abundant happiness to counter all the negative.

My children may be scared now in Cangumbang, but they are safe. They may be cold, but they will survive. The entire village is incredibly resilient and clearly prepared to overcome any challenge before them. Their spirit truly amazes me and drives me to move forward.

Please pray for each of them, that they can continue to have hope and not worry too much about the future. That this storm will not hurt them in anyway.

Thank you for all you've done and will do for us.

Don't worry everyone! We are all ok. The wind was disheartening but not damaging. Thank God!
