Hello Everyone,

The past two days have been busy, successful days at the site. After a delivery in the afternoon on Tuesday, the workers quickly made and installed almost all the frames for the steel beams which will support the second floor. On Wednesday, the finished up the frames and installed the steel frames for the second floor columns. When I left the site on Wednesday the workers had begun installing the plywood which will support the pouring of the cement floor. Our plan is to pour the floor on Tuesday the 16th, and it will be a very long day, we are projecting nearly 12 hours of work with over 20 workers.

The children enjoyed a new flavor of juice on Tuesday, they all agreed it was move tasty then the Mango I have been giving them. Then on Wednesday I brought another round of sliced bread and peanut butter. I have never seen children get so excited for sliced bread in my life. :) Each day more and more the children want to play games. I tried to teach them how to play kickball today but the language barrier was clearly keeping us from understanding each other completely, so I decided to wait until one of the older children was around to help teach it.

Most of the older children are busy working the fields, since it is harvest time. I guess it is the Cangumbang version of detassling. They get 200 pesos a day which is a large some of money for a days work. The harvested rice is scattered around Cangumbang on basically every flat surface in the village.

Again, I am so thankful for all of the donors who have contributed to this project and especially for all the labor of the community members. This center is going to change the future of the community :)

Have you taught them "Duck Duck Goose" yet? The words in tagalog (according to my googling) are Pato Pato Gansa . :)
