Hello Everyone,
As my departure draws near I am overwhelmed with excitement. This project has already changed my life by giving me the opportunity to see the power of my passion for helping others. I would never have imagined three months ago that I would be departing on this journey so soon. Cangumbang will never be the same when the evacuation center is complete. But completing the project will not be a walk in the park. Raising the funds was clearly only the first step in a long process.

Purchasing the land has already proven to be the first bump in the process of completing the project. There are issues with landownership dating back to 1986. This coming week VFV will speak with lawyers, councils, and the landowner to negotiate the purchase. I am so thankful for their endless help in this project, and for all the support I've received for this project. The donations collected will most definitely cover the additional costs of processing the land purchase and continue to make this project possible. The complications in purchasing the land will delay the project slightly, but no matter what complications come up I have no doubt that this project will be completed. I will never give up on saving the people of Cangumbang from the relentless floods that they resiliently endure.

In the next few weeks engineers will begin writing formal plans for the center. A center that is hoped to stand two stories high, with areas for the children to not only receive meals but also participate in special activities. A place for the community to grow and a place for them to survive each day.

My most sincere thanks to all of you who have contributed. I am constantly reminded of the gracious hearts of so many people who support the project I am striving to complete, and I am filled hope for each child in Cangumbang. I could never do this alone, and I thank each one of you for joining me in my endeavor to save this community and help them develop an amazing future for generations to come.

I will continue to update all of you with any progress, until then I am busy preparing myself for the journey. :)
