Hello Everyone,
First I want to start off by extending my thanks to those who have donated over the past month, we now have a total of $60.00 collected to go towards the Evacuation Center Project. It may be a small amount but I am hopeful that slowly but surely the money will be collected.

I haven't updated the blog as much as promised due to the limited amount of donations coming in and my own busy busy schedule. Unfortunately, the everyday tasks of my life have gotten the best of  me lately. It would be so easy for me to forget about what I have experienced and witnessed in Cangumbang. To become completely wrapped up in my own life and my own hardships. But in the back of my mind I will always remember the children in Cangumbang. Their sweet, beautiful smiles. Their tiny, shoeless feet, and their torn, worn out clothes. They continue to need my help every single day and it breaks my heart to not be there. I keep pictures scattered around my room of all the lovely Filipino children I feel so close to yet so very far away to remind me of how lucky I am. As much as I want to drop everything and go back to the Philippines I know I cannot do that at this point in my life. But once I am able to collect enough donations to fund the Evacuation Center to completion I will no doubt take the opportunity to watch it be build from the ground up.

Today I ask you, where ever you are in your life, what ever your financial situation. To really consider donating even one dollar the Evacuation Center Project. One dollar is less than you spend on your morning coffee, on your lunch out at a restaurant, on your gallon of gas to work, or your after dinner dessert. Surely one dollar will break no ones bank who is currently employed. Most of us wouldn't fret if we dropped 4 quarters or misplaced a one dollar bill. So please consider misplacing your one dollar or 4 quarters into an envelope and spend just 45 cents more to post mark it and send off your forgotten change to:

Evacuation Center Project
27704 Wait Rd.
Sturgis, MI 49091

Any contribution you can make, even a handful of pocket change, will help the families and children of Cangumbang survive the next flood. It will bring them hope that better days are to come.

Thanks :)

Dear, dear Elsa--You, and all your sisters etc. looked so beautiful at Sara and Ben's wedding. Perhaps you knew that Bun's wife, Eloyce was admitted to the hospital the next day with pneumonia, blood clots in her legs and an infection in her leg. She is such a trooper and so brave! I will send a little help for your worthy project. Every time I hear about typhoons in the Phillipines and all the flooding, I think of your simple request for help for the local people. So much need and sadness in the world--and so much joy for living! Aunt Sandy
