Hello All,
I have finally gotten a chance to write a new entry. The community center has been really busy.  So yesterday my host brother took me on a city tour.  The city reminds me a lot of Mexico.  Lots of little shops and restaurants everywhere.  While in the city I didn't see one other white person.  It feels so weird to be the minority.  There are 3 forms of public transportation here: jeepney, tricycle, and pedicab.  The jeepney is like a van but with just two bench seats along each side and no windows or doors.  You just enter it through the back.  That is what I use to get to my placement everyday.  The tricycle are motorcycle type bikes with a little cab attached. And then the pedicab is a bike with an attached cab.
There are so many people on the streets everywhere.  After we ate lunch at a Japanese Restuarant some street children started following us and calling me Mommy.  They just kept saying "Please Mommy" and holding out there hands. I felt so bad but my host brother said never to give them anything or they will never leave you alone and they will remember me. Since obviously no one looks like me here.
On the way to my placement I saw some of them even poorer areas of the city.  There were so many shacks that I find it so hard to believe people can actually live in.  It is just so sad.
That's all for now, I will write soon about my placement.

Pedicab
They have pedicabs in GR... I'm sure they're the SAME. :) I'm proud of your bravery! You know I'm too much of a baby for that much adventure. :) Love you!

Re: Pedicab
Really? I have never seen them. I have rode one now, but I feel like such a lazy butt doing it and I feel bad making them pull me haha. I love you too.
