After listening to the VHF Cruiser's Net in Puerto Escondido the MEN catch a ride to Loreto with Dale in his Hot Rod Lincoln (Expedition). The purpose of the trip was to get a manifold part to fix the engine and get the alternator checked out but Dale became the crew's beer store,  restaurant and sight-seeing guide as well.

Everything needed was found in Loreto including more beer and cigarettes.

Loreto is one of the greatest towns anywhere and Puerto Escondido has a great cruising community... very generous with their time and their knowledge. No one is in a hurry, except maybe Dale when he tries to start the cruiser's net a little bit early.

There's a recording of the Cruiser's Net that is too long to put in the video for this episode. It's posted unedited as a second video for those interested in hearing a little of the "flavor" of the cruiser community.

A mini-victory celebration is held aboard the Grace O'Malley that evening in honor of Captn Mecanico's successful repair of the engine.

The next day the Grace-full crew motors across the bay to the nature preserve at Puerto Balandra on Isla Carmen for the final night at anchor before crossing the Sea of Cortez to San Carlos. Another mini-victory will be celebrated there.
