Today is the important day of our trip, and the reason why we are in the States once more this summer: The wedding of Katherine and Joe!

During the late morning/midday we took a short walk around the neighbourhood. Clearly a planned community and not very old. Everything looks just a tad too nice and clean. About 1.5 km from the hotel we found a shopping center with some restaurants, a large supermarket for grocery shopping and some other types of shops. We passed an elementary school and found a recreational area with a playground and an American football field, where the kids were playing football with their parents looking on.

In the afternoon we went to the wedding. The church, a catholic church, was very nice and rather large. The church had other buildings in connection to it, among others a parish house and a school.

The Catholic wedding ceremony was very nice, and it was very interesting to participate in.

At the reception afterward we were greeted by bagpipes. Half the guests have are from Scotland or have Scottish roots, so it was not very surprising. The reception was held at a golf course club house in a beautiful location.

The food was great. Especially the cake and all the fruit and the chocolate covered strawberries. It was great finally meeting Katherine again after 5 years, though we did not get much time to speak with her and Joe as we liked, as they also had to talk to all the other guests, of course. It turned out that Laura and Curtis, whose wedding we went to in Atlanta three months ago, had made it to Katherine's wedding. It was great to have another opportunity to talk to them both again - which we did for most of the night.

As with Laura's and Curtis' wedding there was a lot of dancing and we tried a few dance moves as well. The reception ended around 10pm, where we said goodbye to Katherine and to Laura and Curtis, who would be leaving for Curtis parents in the morning.
