We get up quite early the next morning and will transfer the whole day by train down to Manakara. Tinah the driver will expect us down there. First class is for tourists, second class for locals. This trip leads though a quite polarized world. A woman begging for food with her toddler is offered a balloon by a Swiss lady. A German guy distrurbs a class being held and by distributing a stack of execise books randomly. Many villagers wait for the train to come – the day's attraction for them, the only source for trading. No doubt: this train is a lifeline. Many people just watch. How overwhelmingly many people. Watching the environment from inside (i.e. the car, the train etc.) that thought came up to me quite often that Madagascar is too much overpopulated.
