No es que San Miguel del Tucumán sea un lugar que no vale la pena visitar, es que no estaba interesada en ver ciudades capitales. De todos modos, es pequena y la parte que considero bonita de ver es la que visité.
La Oficina de Turismo que se encuentra en la misma terminal de Omnibus, está en la plataforma siete. El empleado que atiende es super amable y brinda toda la información necesaria y más. Por supuesto, insiste en que uno pase al menos una noche en la ciudad pero bueno ... todo depende de lo que cada uno busque en su viaje. Yo, tranquilidad, lo que significa tomar rutas más tranquilas.
Y la provincia de Tucumán podrá tener una ciudad capital que no me resulta atractiva, pero el resto de la provincia vale la pena !!! Para que puedan investigar más sobre sus circuitos, consulten la página oficial:

Es así que luego de unas horas en la urbe, partí con destino a Tafí del Valle ....
San Miguel del Tucumán is the capital city of Tucumán. It is about 1193 km from Buenos Aires. You can take a bus (about 15 hours) or a flight (Aerolíneas Argentinas or Lan Chile). The capital city is a "touch and go" since there is not that much to see except for the historical center with the "Casita de Tucumán", the main square and all the buildings around it (church, governmental buildings, cathedral, etc). There is also a big park, "9 de Julio", where you can spend some time. However the province is worth a visit because it has magnificent locations with breathtaking landscapes. You can make a night in San Miguel del Tucumán (though it is not absolutely necessary unless you need to have a good rest after so long a journey) and after that, take a bus somewhere else, for example to the Valley area. There you can visit Tafí del Valle, Amaicha del Valle, Ruinas de Quilmes. Believe me, you won't be disappointed. If you need to get some info about the province and surroundings, there is a Tourist Information Office in the bus station (box number seven). People are very friendly and warm and provide you with all the maps, list of hotels and circuits to visit. If you want to go to Tafí del Valle, there are buses every two hours approximately (from San Miguel del Tucumán to Tafí del Valle) on platform number 65, Aconquija Co. And from Tafí del Valle you can go to Amaicha del Valle, Ruinas de Quilmes and then to Cafayate in Salta. The same Co. (Aconquija) covers the distance. You have to find out the timetable in each location since bus frequencies change from time to time. April '07
