The plan is to cross the country in our van. We had lessons on how to change a tire (thanks to Melton's!) and bought lots of camping supplies at REI member yardsales over a lonnnng period of time so we're finally set. The plan was to meet at 7am--3 of the 4 siblings got there late (myself included) and we didn't end up leaving til about 10 or so, just because of how much junk we had to pack. We really crammed all our stuff in the van, took out one of the middle seat for extra packing room (for our 2 coolers and pillows, etc) but it all fit eventually. So, nothing is planned except that tonight we will sleep in our tent in a state park somewhere near louisville kentucky. And so we begin.
