Its amazing how traveling alone allows you the chance to meet so many new people, that you would never have met if you were with someone else on your trip. In Thailand there are alot of travelers on their own. I was lucky enough to meet a really great woman named Maritta from Australia. She is traveling for about 6 months, and is about half into her journey. I met her on the ferry from Krabi to Koh Phi Phi island. She had no plans and no place to stay, which is how most of the back-packers travel, since they only really have a general idea of where they want to go, alot of where they stay may relay on planning their journey along the way, so having no reservations is the best way, leaving yourself open to where you want to go to next, with no commitment. A really great way to travel.
I told her about my great place, and she was open to checking it out. The Viking Nature resort here in Phi Phi is off the beaten path ( my kind of place!) has a very artistic vibe to it, and is somewhat isolated since you have to take a long boat to get here ( which is like a long canoe with a motor on it) the boat pulls up to shore, and you jump into the water and walk to shore. Maritta loved this place and since she made the group now 4 when Sara and Eve arrive, we looked into their really amazing villas built up in the trees. The owner here believes in  living in nature, and their is no air-con, no hot water and built these villas around the trees, in fact the trees go right thru the villas! We looked at one on top of the hill, which has a surround deck with view on every side of the ocean , its own private ( huge!) deck, with hammocks, a beautiful hand carved wood deck, enclosed outdoor bathroom, and handmade lanterns hanging from the vaulted rafters......we had found our home for the next 5 days.
The whole resort is amazing, and is owned by an artist, his work is everywhere. They light candles at night, and play the most beautiful music...Its going to be hard to ever leave this place! Its like our own private shangrila....
Maritta and I did venture out last night and had dinner on the beach and went to see a fire show at a bar on the beach....very interesting. After the show, they lit a large jump rope on fire and twirled it around and encouraged people to jump rope thru the fire....Maritta and I decided that watching was a much safer idea, but it was entertaining to watch all the brave soles who probably had way too many Chang beers to even know what they were doing.
Sara and Eve arrive big day consisted of a morning walk to town, a swim, and a nap in the hammock...Another day in Paradise.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!! I want to go to Viking. How can you ever leave??? Yesterday I went to 90 minutes of yoga, hiked up Cowles Mt. and went back to another 90 min. class-getting ready for our peace pilgrimage hike. I do not think Dahab can compare. Rented Cleopatra. It was four hours and I loved every second. Please enjoy pad-thai for me and savor every single moment of your amazing journey.
