So surviving almost drowning in a boat ride, makes one pretty hungry! The restaurant here at the Sanctuary closes at 9, which is another sign Ive picked a quiet place where things close down at a decent time, and the menu here is almost all vegetarian, with a few seafood choices....those chickens are dirty little creatures...I should know, I grew up on a farm with many of them! No chicken for you!
Another sign that this place is all about the Peace and Love, my receipt for my meal says " Make Love , not War" on the top of it.
The Sanctuary Resort where I'm staying for my Yoga Retreat is a new age, yoga, healthy kind of a place on its own beach that as you know already is hard as hell to get here, but they seem to do just fine, since this place is always busy.
You could not only come here for Yoga, this is also  place where you can do a detox, and cleansing, which is kind of expensive by the way. Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper  just to starve yourself? I know, its the healthy way to do it, by  giving you shakes and herbs through out the day to keep up your energy and detox all the  impurities out of your body . They are so serious about it here, they even have a few Colonic bathrooms only for the cleansers....now that is some serious cleansing going on. Can you imagine having that job? Cleaning those bathrooms? do you think they give that job to the new hires?
Well., anyways, there is too much good healthy food to be eaten on this trip, so I'm not paying to starve myself. I will just do my daily yoga and in between lay in my hammock and decide what yummy meal I'm going to eat next. I know, sounds pretty tough.
So these new age hipsters that hang out at Sanctuary are quite the interesting group. And have provided me with the best people watching in  a long time. These aren't just cool, healthy hippies, these people are hip and so stylish!  With their gypsy pants, and homemade necklaces, men with such great bodies, they don't even own a shirt. Women with the best abs I have ever seen, making it easy for me to turn down having dessert every night . ( they have a homemade bakery here too!)
These are the most beautiful hippies i have ever seen! They are new age hipsters, and Ive been taking some notes! If I could only be as cool as them, its alot to work towards.
The menu is so healthy , that I'm hungry within a couple of hours from my last meal. Maybe they do that on purpose so you will order more...hmmmm.
They have new age classes that you can take with a spiritual advisor, or a private healer who can tell you everything from holistic life coaching, or how you and your partner would benefit from a tantric life style...how groovy.
But for me, its pilate's in the morning, Yoga in the afternoon, a few massages here and there ( of course they have a spa!) lots of great yummy food, and a whole lot of swinging in my hammock.
I think I like my bungalow more than any one I have ever stayed in! Okay, except for that amazing villa Christine and I stayed in on Phi Phi. My bathroom is outdoors, but enclosed in the back of the bungalow, and it is built in the mountain side and it has huge boulders as its back wall. I have a wonderful deck high up on the hillside with a wonderful hammock and the sounds of the jungle and sea crashing down below, its pretty fabulous. Yes, I plan on coming home sometime soon.
