So begins getting into a daily routine of no routine at all. This island is simple, there really isn't too much to do, which is the whole point of being here in the first place. Christine and I get up in the morning , myself always before her, and then off to coffee on the beach chairs overlooking the stunning beach, then breakfast which at Mr. Gaos which has espresso and homemade bread, then off to the beach for most of the day.
We don't wear shoes until we are going to town, we never wear them to breakfast, dinner or any of our meals. The sand is everywhere, and you don't wear your shoes inside places, including stores, or places to eat, its considered rude, so you either leave them outside on the front steps, or just leave them at your bungalow! Easy life...
So, Mom, you probably wont want to read this part...I talked Christine into renting a scooter so we could get around the island, since other than riding on a taxi motor bike, its the only way to get around. I have only had one motor scooter lesson, so I do not consider myself confident enough to take a motorbike out out on my own, which my mom will love to hear at least.
So Christine rented the bike....and even though she does know how to ride,,her confidence in having a passenger such as myself with my life in her hands, is making her, and me, pretty nervous. So, on any side path, when the road is smaller, and there is other bikes,,,I get off and walk. Ive walked alot on this trip, but after seeing all the other visitors with plenty of bandages on their legs and arms from wipe outs on their own rented bikes,,,,I think I'm making a good choice in getting some extra exercise.
We love hanging out at Buffalo Bay Beach, which is  a short motorbike ( and walk) from our beach at Mr. Gao. This beach is amazing, with crystal blue water and powder soft sand beaches, with a low reef that ables you to walk out forever into the water..
That is pretty much how our day goes...we get up, talk about what we are going to eat next, ( the food here is so incredible, and cheap!) that there seriously isn't enough time in the day, or room to eat all the Delicious food that we would like to. Then we have a drink and watch the sunset, go to bed, and wake up to another fabulous day of no plans , but the days seem to be slipping by, and our days on this beautiful island are winding down.
Our next destination will be finding a boat that can take us to the Surin Islands about 4 hours south of Koh Phayam in the Mo Ko Surin National Park will we will rent tents and sleeping bags and camp on  private beach in the national park. Ive heard that the monkeys like to get in your tent while you are at the beach during the day and go through your things. So, Im hoping that they have some lockers for our valuables...or Christine and I might come back to a couple of monkeys hanging out in the trees wearing our crew Ids around their necks and rummaging thru our passports. That would be a funny sight, but I think we Will opt for the locker instead.

**** Critter Update*****

I get alot of questions about what sort of creatures, and critters that I encounter on my backpacking adventures, so here's the latest update so far.....Sarah will cringe for sure when reading this!!!!

***Not too many so far, as rustic as we are going....

- we came across a albino tree frog in our bathroom at Mr.Gaos....he was really cute and hiding behind a broom , he slipped back into the crack in the wall after he was discovered.
-a pretty large spider on the wall of our outdoor shower also at Mr.Gaos in the morning of our last day.
-Bites...I have a few mosquito bites, more than Christine, mostly around my ankles, I don't know why they like to bite there!
-a bite behind my knee that I'm sure is a spider bite, its swelled up pretty bad at first and then the area around the bite had a large mark ( usually a spider bite) I don't think it was from the one in the shower. lol....I think i might have sat on the one that bit me,,,,Sarah is even more grossed out now!
-alot of geckos on our walls inside and outside our bungalow, they are great since they love to eat other bugs, and they make cute sounds.
-Im sure I will a bigger critter update from the next island when we are camping outdoors!

And the big question is "What is your favorite island?" You have seen so many and they are all exquisitely gorgeous. Sounds like Christine is getting into the Thai groove just fine. I treated Rach to an early 30th b-daze at Thai Way massage last week It was 74 today here in San Diego and 10 degrees when Adela flew to Chicago. You sure as heck DO NOT miss those winters. xoxo
