After i had been visiting Toraja region for about a week in total, i decided that i should have tried to head to north of Sulawesi. I think i took the right decision to go back to Makassar and fly from there to Manado, an ugly city harbor, quite close by ferry to Bunaken dive paradise; as the overland route would have take me about a week as there is no asphalt road to get there!

I spent an afternoon in Makassar while waiting for my flight and instead of staying in a small and dirty airport i visited a bit the city. I first went to fort Rotterdam, a good preserved piece  of dutch architecture in Indonesia. Nothing spectacular to me, coming from Amsterdam...but i met nice group of indonesian teenagers on a school trip, all greedy to have a picture with the tourist (me..),ahahah!

Afterwards i took a pete-pete (local transport) to go to Pelabuhan Paotere. This place is absolutely captiving...i could have spent hours wandering the sweltering allays! A troop of chidren was following me and accompanying me along the way, so i brought a few bags of candies to distribute around...their smile and happiness was so rewarding that im glad i have spent some time there!
Afterwards time to go to airport again and ready to fly to Manado, and then ferry to Bunaken!
