Ok so we arrived in Brussels at about 10 in the morning last Friday. We walked from the southern train station up through town to get to our hostel. Along the way we stopped at the very famous peeing boy fountain and got waffles there. The waffles were messy but amazing! We continued our walk and went the the central square of Brussels. The square is so beautiful and every building is so detailed. I didnt even know where to start taking pictures so I ended up just taking a video of the whole square. Around one we made it to our hostel and we were hoping to get a little nap in but then we were told we wouldnt be able to check in until around four. So we hopped on a train to take us to this famous ball building thing. I dont know how else to describe it so just look at the pictures. We heard is wasnt worth paying to go into the building so we just took some pictures by it and then left. After that we headed to an old brewary in town. I guess theyre the only brewary there that still makes their beer by hand. We got a quick tour of the place and then we were able to sample the beer. None of us liked it very much though. It was reallyy bitter and just very diffent.
Ater all this it was time to head to the train station to somehow meet up with Erin who came that afternoon. We didnt really have a specific plan on where to meet up so it was a little stressful. She was supposed to arrive at 4:30 and we all were looking for her around the central part of the station. At 5 we still hadn't found her so I was starting to get nervous but just a few minutes later I heard her glorious voice call my name. On the walk from the train station to the hostel we stopped at the major points we had stopped by earlier so that Erin could see them too. Finally we got to the hostel and we were able to rest for a while. Later that night we headed to a bar where they have 2004 beers. It's the most beers any bar has in the world (Guinness approved). They only have 24 beers on tap though so I just picked one that had an interesting name. I believe it was something like delirium nocturnum. It actually turned out to be pretty good! After a beer there we headed to a different bar for a little dancing but it was really crowded so we didn't end up staying too late. We were all pretty tired so we got a good night of sleep in before our trip to Bruge the next morning!
