Yesterday was a great day! I was watching the sunrise over the mountains this morning (listening to Muse and Dragonforce) and reflecting upon this.

Pete is still at work this week, so during the day (especially the hot ones like yesterday) Aunt Sue and I don't venture too far. But, luckily for us, Pete was able to get out a bit early and we were able to drive north for some cooler air. Some of the photos depict what the mountains look like, how narrow the roads are up into the mountain (very scary!!) and what Podgorica and the surrounding area looks like from the Mountains. We also stopped for pictures of some of the monuments that have been erected (most of them before the war). And we definitely enjoyed the cooler air which was probably 10 - 15 degrees lower then that of the city.

After the mountains in the North, Pete decided to drive back through the city to see Lake Skadar. Lake Skadar is split in half with Montenegro on the North/West and Albania on the South East. In fact, some of the photos show Albanian Mountains. Well, Pete kinda got on a roll... and before we knew it, we were heading over the western mountains heading to Budva! And when i mentioned over the mountain... we really went over the bloody mountain! Talk about even higher and narrower then a lot of the roads i have been on in Canada!

We did stop for a couple Photo Ops... but the best part was catching the first glimpse of the Adriatic when we actually got on top of the mountain! WOW. I really can't wait to go back! There were a ton of interesting looking monestaries on the way as well. Actually, I saw more monestaries yesterday then previously in my entire life.

The city we stopped in was Budva -- which is a nice enough town. It is full of tourists as it is one of Montenegro's premier tourist locations. It was quite incredible to walk through the old town and see what Budva used to be with all the cobblestones and narrow streets.

When we finally got back to Podgorica at 9, we decided to hit up one of the best restaurants in the country for some traditional Lamb and Popeci. I had the Lamb, which was amazing, but i also tried the Popeci, which was also very good. Oh and of course, no dinner is without tasty Montenegrin wine! :P

By the time we got home from our excursion, all i could really to is find my way to my bed and sleep!
