Today we left Kansas City early in the morning for our adventures "Down Under"! It was going to be a long day with several flights. We went from Kansas City to Denver to Los Angeles. We spent a loonngg time at the LAX airport - we arrived at noon and did not leave until 10:35 at night!! Yes, one could say poor planning on my part but that's what you get when you chase the low fares!! Anyway, we walked around the terminal, shopped a little, met with a couple of my friends who work at LAX. It was worth the wait however. We got to fly on the brand new Airbus 380 aircraft - that's currently the largest passenger aircraft in service. It has two full decks accommodating up to 450 passengers. The wings are simply HUGE but what a smooth ride it was. The day was long, but not as long as the flight from Los Angeles to Sydney - 15 hours in the air!!! I am quite sure this was a first for both of us.
