It has taken us three long days of driving to get back to Lahore. From Gulmit to Islamabad we travelled down the KKH, and from there down the main road to Lahore. It's taken a long time, but it has been great getting to know Peter, Susie, Annabel and David. Peter was born in Gilgit, so their trip has been shaped around his desire to discover more about his past. Suusi and Annabel are Peter's daughters and David is Annabel's husband. They're a great group to travel with and it's wonderful to have some company. I had been feeling rather isolated, especially after Dost Dar's advances, and it's amazing how much more relaxed I've felt.

This evening we had dinner on Lahore's Food Street. It was quite an experience; not being able to decide whether we wanted half a brain or a whole, or one testicle or two, we had kebabs!
