The Serengeti is awesome. Endless space, Acacia trees set against the skyline. Browns, greens, sharp grass, strange rocky outcrops and thousands and thousands of animals.
We saw some incredible sights that are still imprinted on my memory.
A lioness taking the first bites out of her kill on the side of the road. The following morning, only the clean carcas was left. A lone hyena was leisurley munching on it, surrounded by vultures waiting for their share.
A hippo lumbering through the grass.
Thousands of migrating wilderbeast and zebras crossing a stream and clambering up the other side.
A lazy lion asleep under a tree after eating his dinner.
A lioness we spotted about 100m away. We watched in disbelief as she slowly ambled towards us and eventually crossed over the road in front of the truck.
We also saw: giraffes, warthogs, buffalos, hundreds of gazellas and impala, jackels, elephants, an eagle owl, rock hyrax, a mongoose, a crocodile, ostriches, guinea fowl, a secretary bird. And many others.
