Turkey has been magnificent, and it looks like I'll be back here working this year. Having done almost none of the sights, that may well be a good chance to catch the things I've missed, but no doubt I'll pass them by again. There's too many good people to meet here - what's a traveller to do??
Tomorrow I fly out of Istanbul, to Rome. Asia will be behind me; Europe and dear friends await. We have a couple of days in Rome, then a week at the apartment in Florence. Several beery days in World Cup Germany are interspersed between my leaving Italy, and my arriving in London, and that is going to be a hell of a good time.
So my solo wanderings have come to an end, and with it this travelogues. No doubt that will come as a blessed relief to most of you, but if anyone is still reading, than thanks, and I hope you've enjoyed it all. I'll keep putting my photos up, and probably do an Italy/Germany round-up later, so look out. :-)
I read a wonderful quote the other day: "A tourist doesn't know where he's been. A traveller has no idea where he is going."
I kinda like that. It seems to fit pretty well.
Thanks you guys, take care, and everyone keep in touch please! I may not be writing much more for a while, but I love to hear from all of you.
All my love, and big hugs.
