Today we took a bus from La Paz to Oruro and then caught the train to Uyuni.  We heard that taking the train was so much better as the road from Oruro to Uyuni is one of the worst roads in Bolivia, well except for the bus ride to the jungle from La Paz.  We arrived in Oruro and checked our backpacks and then went and had some lunch at a local restaurant.  After this we boarded our train and prepared for the 6 1/2 hour train ride.  The train was pretty good..........we inhaled enough dust to choke a large horse and grooved to Bony M videos.  We then grooved for another hour or so to Bob Marley videos and then the ever so popular Shakira video marathon!!!!!!  Thank god by this time we were almost at our destination.  I{ll tell you, I never want to hear a Shakira song again in my life after South America, not that I liked her music before or anything.  Anyway we arrived in Uyuni around 11 p.m. and checked in with our tour operator.  We grabbed a hotel room accross the street and turned in for the evening.  Thankfully we were sung asleep by the local karoake bar beside our hotel.

So we are off on our 4 day jeep tour to the Salar de Uyuni (the largest and the highest salt flats in the world).  Stay tuned for stories from the Salt Flats..........
