Last night I went out after dark.... The stars were so bright. I spotted Orion on the Horison. I've never seen Orion from the Southern Hemisphere. Next I found the Southern Cross. And The Milky Way.... It doesn't get any better than this.
This morning I spent a couple of hundred kilometers on unpaved roads getting to Mungo National Park. Amazing place but a very long way to go to get there. I need to come back some time when Lake Mungo actually has some water in it!
The photos I have show you a bit of how stark and flat everything is. Plus Wallabys.

Still guesswork at this point but once I get to Mount Gambier and visit a couple of selected sites, I'll be head back to New South Wales. If I get really lucky, timewise, I may try to get to the south end of the Coorong. The Coorong is a 150 mile uninterrupted sandbar.... It is completely undeveloped.

Now things get into the true realm of guesswork. I will pick up my rental car and head south through New South Wales. I make stop at Eden before I venture into Victoria.
