Still in Toronto and having too much fun!!

I have well and truly been bitten by the bug though which is not enjoyable - but such is the joy of hostel life - dirty smelly travellers bringing bugs with them, ewwww! Rob has been spared as they have had too much of a feast on me!! They obviously don't like Guinness and Gin flavoured skin - but vegans are tasty treats!!

We managed to get tickets (after a 2 hour queue in the Rush line - which is anything but rushed!!) to the first film and World Premiere at the Toronto Film Festival - "Water" by Meetha Depal, this was an amazing film and well worth the wait - when it comes out be sure to try and watch it! Celebrities and film crews galore - we even got to see the Director and leading cast members before the film, very exciting!!

The 9th September was a day trip to Niagra Falls..... AWESOME! Did you know there are actually two waterfalls there?? On the American side a smaller version of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls - the one we are all familiar with if we've seen the pics. [Fact of the Day: 150 million litres of water a minute tumbling down the Horseshoe Falls!]. We even got to see the falls lit up at night, which was quite a sight! Top tip: Save money and Do NOT stay in Niagra unless you like Tacksville; tack, tack and more tourist tack galore!!!

Saturday 10th: Trip to the CN Tower = 181 stories high / 553.33 metres / 1,1815ft 5in = World's Tallest Building!!
625.09 metres / 2,050 ft 10in above sea level.
Spectacular sunny day with views extraordinaire from the lookout (114 stories / 346 metres / 1136 ft... Definitely Dizzying heights, I had to have a sit down and drink to calm nerves and restore balance!! Rob the Vertigo sufferer, surprisingly had no problems whatsoever with the views, and loved standing on the glass floor, looking down 113 stories / 342 metres / 1,122ft to the ground below (How strange is that?!!?)

We're off to Algonquin Park tomorrow for a couple of days on the Beaver Feaver trip (!). Rob is looking forward to some beaver action and I will be looking for lions and tigers and bears, Oh my!! (Sorry that's Wizard of Oz!), it will be Moose, wolves and bears Oh my! With the occasional raccoon and beaver and squirrel thrown in for good measure, so long as they are not hungry!!! Canoeing and trekking and campfires to look forward to... sounds good to us! Then we will get the train at 9am on Thursday, all the way over to Winnipeg arriving 4pm next day (no sleeper car mind you, we're on a budget, so will be v.v.tired on arrival, but we are assured the views are well worth it!)

We also went and saw a whole host of banned and censored cartoons last night for the Cartoon Film Festival e.g. Bugs Bunny destroying the Japanese single-handedly and surreal bug animation from 1912 - we were very lucky to see it as it is the only copy that exists now! Also Betty Boop doing a strip-tease (Scandalous!), before the censors decided she should be sensible and start being a homemaker; baking, sewing and generally being dull!!

That's All For Now Folks!
