We definately go off to a later start than we hoped. We wanted to do some more shopping and walk around Beirut for a while before I had to meet some people in Beirut, but unfortunately we only go there about 30 minutes before my meeting. We were able to walk around the American University fo Beirut (AUB)- one of the most prestigious schools in the Middle East. A gorgeous campus, but overrun with cats. We thought they were all strays, but later found out that the President of the university thought it would add "life" to campus. The cats are bred and fed to stay on campus and brighten it up.
Then we spent a little bit of time in Hamra- Beirut's shopping district- before heading back to the village for a goodbye dinner with my family. We had dinner at the Cliffhouse restaurant in my village. It is build on a cliff with great views overlooking Beirut. After polishing off a bottle of Johnny Walker with my cousins, it was time to pack and head for the airport. It was great way to end a trip that way too short.
Now its back to US and back to real life. Thanks for reading!

Cats all over Beirut!
When I visited 3 years ago, I found myself photographing cats all over the city. They were every shape and size, from loving to viscious! And of course, the ones on the AUB campus looked the healthiest!
