We spent in Cusco 10 days- which is a lot for us..
This is a very nice city, very European with many tourists (and so m-a-n-y Israelis).
Ofer did rafting for 3 days, he really enjoyed it. It is in a river called Apurimac and it is really not as dangerous as you might think.
On the meantime I (Einav..) stayed in Cusco, I walked in the markets (Ofer just canīt see markets anymore..) and uploaded many pictures to the web site.
On these 10 days we saw all the markets.
One day we took a bus to Tambomachay- there is an archeologist site of the Inkas there. From there we walked to Puca Pucara (another site) and then we Qenqo and Saqsyhuaman, we walked about 7 km and it was really hot that day so we got back to Cusco very tired.
On Saturday afternoon we left Cusco. First we took a bus to Pisaq, there we climbed a mountain for an hour and saw an Inkaīs archeologist site, we ate in the village lunch (pizza that really reminds Pizza meter :) ). There was a holiday for one of the Christian virgins- there were people dressed really funny a whole parade. From Pisaq we took a bus to Urubamba and from there to Ollantaytambo. In Ollantaytambo there is another Inak site but it was too late, we waited 2 hours for the train and then left to Aguas Calientes. Aguas Calientes is the village close to the Machu Pichu, it is really called the Machu Pichu village, but everyone calls it Aguas Calientes (hot water.. because of the hot mineral water there). We spent the night in the village in really early in the morning we left to see the Machu Pichu. The bus costs 6 dollars (only on way!!) so we took it only to climb to the mountain. We got there at about 7 in the morning, we visited the site and at 8:45 we started to climb Waynapichu mountain (all the Israelis calls it the nose), it is about 40 minutes climbing stairs (really not easy..) from the peak there is a very nice view of the Machu Pichu. We spent a few more hours in the site and then took the stairs down from the Machu Pichu (I never saw so many stairs in one day..). We got back to Aguas Calientes at about 15:00 and went to the hot water termas. It was really nice after walking so much.
We took the train back to Ollantaytambo on Monday at 05:45, from there we took a bus to Cusco.
In Cusco we had only Monday night to go out at night- we went to all the pubs and discos there. Everyone gives you free drinks and really do every thing they can so that you will come so in one night we have been in all most all the pubs and discos..
On Tuesday at 17:00 we are taking the bus to Ika.
We really had a good time in Cusco
