After that we toured a nearby church. Then we headed to Pisa. The tower's lean was corrected a bit but it wasn't disappointing at all. Kyle and I took some pictures and went shopping around a bit. The whole day was pretty satisfying.
Our next stop was Florence and it was one of my favourites. We had a really excited tour guide who reminded Kyle of one of his sister's close friends. First we took a tour of historical monuments including a square that had the copy of Michelangelo's David. What really struck me about Florence was that a lot of their statues and monuments ere dedicated to scientists and thinks who espoused the value of humanism, rather than religion. One square we went to, by the River, had monuments to Galileo and Machiavelli. The tour was good and informative but the headsets hurt my ear and the tour guide's (not the main one) voice was kind of irritating. We had some free time in Florence, not much, so Kyle and I sat at a nearby café and he had an espresso while I had an "American Coffee".
