Yesterday Christy, Serena and I went to Disneyland Paris. We wanted to treat ourselves after having an exam Saturday. Saturday night Serena and I went out for dinner in the St. Germain area. We passed by Les Deux Magots cafe where Satre, Camus and de Beauvoir debated in their black turtlenecks. We ate a fish restaurant then upon going home we spoted a candy stand and picked out some candy.

Disney was so much fun...quite like the one in California. I haven't been to the Florida one so I can't compare. The ride was only 35 minutes from Paris. We had a pass to the Parc Disneyland only. First we started off in Frontierland and worked our way around, more or less. We went to Phantom Manor where the ceiling kind of lifts up (but it's an illusion) and thus it made me really dizzy. We also went on a roller coaster called Big Thunder Mountain. It wasn't a huge coaster though, but I think it did have a loop.

Then we took the railroad and ended up in Fantasyland. We went through Alice's Curious Labrynth and I really enjoyed the hookah smoking caterpillar. AEIOU. We made our way back to Adventureland though, and did Pirates of the Carribbean and the Indiana Jones ride. We saw a fake Jake Sparrow--pretty much a dude with a lot of make up on. I thought it was a show and not a roller coaster but perhaps I had Universal Studios in mind. We didn't go through Aladdin's passage but took "Adventure Isle" to get back to the other area of the park.

We ate lunch at a BBQ joint in Frontierland. I must say, I've had a total of 3 burgers since being in Paris (that's quite a lot for me though, even back home) and they all pale in comparison to back home. That's the one thing North Americans have cornered, is junk food.

Next we went to Discoveryland. My favourite was Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast. It's a kids ride except you get to blast these targets with a laser gun and you get points for it. We also went on the Star Tours ride, Les Mysteres du Nautilus and Space Mountain. Space Mountain is awful. I mean it would have been fun, except all it did was BANG my head between the two shoulder pads I thought I would get a concussion and pass out. I would have enjoyed it otherwise but I was concentrating so hard on staying alive. I should sue them for that.

After Adventureland we were soo pooped. We went back to Fantasyland and went on Blanche Neige et les Sept Nains ride. We had to find a way around the big parade that was happening and we made it outside and went shopping at the Disney store. There I saw the ugliest boy I have ever seen. He looked like a british bulldog. And he was a brat trying to take candy. I bought a little treat at the store.

Today after class I went to St. Germain des Pres and shopped. I finally bought something for myself. I have been buying people gifts l-r-c and bought myself a jacket to keep warm at the outlet mall. So I went to Longchamp and bought the purse I wanted a lot...that I had been looking online at. You can't find Longchamp in Canada. I also spent a whopping 6 Euros on 4 macarons at Pierre Herme, but I love them and I figure I'll never have them again as they are a French thing.

This week upcoming is busy--visits to Assemblee Nationale, Senat, and a reception at a law firm. Plus Paris plage is on and we're curious to see what that is. Jen and I also have plans to visit the catacombes...spooky!
