I have been so incredibly busy and haven't had time to post anything. So the first week of being in Paris is essentially over. This means that I have school tomorrow :( Well it had to happen some time and I'm not spending 5 weeks in Paris for nothing!

So this is a recap of what I've been up to since my last post.

Tuesday, July 1
This day was awful. I hate orientations. I went to school early and had the first french class--a lecture on Introduction to European law. The rooms had no central air and it was the hottest day of life. I wore my new Kors soes because we had a photo to take at the end and I wanted to die. It was excruciating. My feet are all cut up now because of it. We had a reception with champagne and hor d'oeuvres. I had a crepe and caviar and amazing things called maracons but it was hard to enjoy because my feet hurt so much and I was so hot.

Wednesday July 2
After class Jen and I walked to a district to go vintage shopping. We didn't end up buying anything but we fell in love with the area. Afterwards we made our way to Pont Neuf bridge which crosses the Seine. We took a boat ride with our class called Bateau Mouche. It showed us many monuments but from the view from the river. It was way too cold this day though.

Thursday July 3
Today at school we had a session on the Frenche legal system, in preparation for our visit to the Cour de Cassation. We went on the tour after lunch. The Cour de Cassation is essentially akin to the Canadian Supreme Court. Although the French have a zillion appeal courts. The final court is like the 6th level and your case pretty much only gets to that level when you die. What's the point....reform. Haha. The Cour de Cassation is on the Ile de la Cite. The ile was actually Paris when Paris first existed. It's crazy to think about how much it's grown, especially over the Belle Epoch and now. We got to visit rooms that the general public doesn't get to see, so I will post some pictures. I was in the same room that Marie Antoinette was tried! Afterwards Jen and I went to a nearby pub and ate a snack and talked for awhile.

Friday July 4
Jen and I had a blast shopping. We went to Gallerie Lafayette and Printemps. It was AMAZING. We also went to Colette (on Rue St. Honore) which is a store that kind of reminds me of what you'd find on Queen West in Toronto (or Queen WW!). The shops at Gallerie and Printemps were amazing. So much selection and sales everywhere. I got so overwhelmed that I didn't buy anything. We also went to Jardin du Luxembourg for a tour with Laurent, our school's tour guide. To cap off the day, we went to this crepe restaurant in the Latin Quarter and I had a nutella crepe.

I have more to say about what I did yesterday and today but I feel this post has been long enough and those days deserve their own post!
