Woken up at 8:30 am by a guy reminding us we had to check out at 9. Packed up out stuff and had the final use of the shower which was basically a hot tap from the celing and a cold tap further down which was supposed to mix by the time it hit you. I had an israeli breakfast First non curry breakfast in a week. Chris had porrdige. We had decided to spend 600 extra rupees on the tour for the guide to give us information as well as just taking us to the places. Left at 9:30 im not going to write about all the temples as in Hampi there are 2000 temples. Not sure how many we went to in 6 hours but the best ones were probably the underground temple which was full of bats, the temple with 1000 carvings, the royal palace elephant stables which originally housed 10 elephants and the stone car which was a stone chariot that apparently the wheels used to move. Scorcingly hot all day took about 1000 photos. Lunch managed to get some meat and a beer (both are banned in hampi due to religion) at some family restaurant without a menu
. Wasnt bad bit overpriced tho. Got back to the hotel at about 3 and chilled out by the river for the last time. The landscape in Hampi has been some of the weirdest ive ever seen we thought it was from a glacier or something but apparently it all used to be underwater and there was also a volcano. Looks like the flinstones land. Got a taxi to the bus station and had another curry. Double gins and fresh pinapple juice made while we waited. Im on an "air conditioned" bus with no air conditioning not sure im gonna get much sleep but got some sleeping pills and the final booze i brought from duty free. Bus was late because some fiendish russians were bribing the driver to do something. Not sure what. Been a week now in India dont think im gonna wanna stay here when Chris has gone. Getting really sick of everyone trying to get really small amounts of money from me all the time. 20 rupees to take luggage on the bus. 20 rupees surcharge (told him to fuck off). 20 rupees for this and that all the time. So fiendish.
