2nd day trip out of tokyo 2 hours north to the mountains and temples of nikko. 1000 yen for a combined ticket that let us see the main building and shrines (but didnt include alot of stuff). The whole place is basically inside a wood as soon as you get out of the town which is like a half hour walk really remineded me of something from a japanese film. The most impressive building was inside a massive warehouse because it was under construction but the other ones were really good aswell they were like complexes of shrine buildings. The see no evil hear no evil speak no evil carving on monkeys which are something to do with buddism but ive heard the saying before. After that we walked for like an hour to a wood carving workshop which had a nice shop where i picked up some souveneirs and gave me a good idea of something i want to make one day. We walked back downhill though the woods to the station and went back to tokyo. 2nd train trip very much succesful.
