Where I stayed
Museum of Modern Art
I recently went to the Museum of Modern Art located in Chicago. There was a free exhibit so I decided to check it out with my friend and knock out one of these cultural opportunities. I'm glad we went in because there were some really great pieces. One of the featured artists did an exhibit entirely made out of light. I would walk into a room and there would be bars of different colored lights all arranged in a certain way. Sometimes there were smaller displays which populated one room and sometimes there was only one light display set up in a room and the room acted as an entire art piece. I loved how abstract this exhibit was. I had never seen this type of art before and it was definitely fun to walk amongst the different light beams. I became part of the art too. There was another artist that did these very intricate drawings. I posted a picture, but even from the picture you cannot see the detail that was put into it. The picture was almost like a bunch of doodles which came together to form an amazing collage. There were little cartoon characters with big eyes, there were hearts, squiggly lines amongst many other drawings. It looked like it took the artist FOREVER to complete it. It was really cool. I felt I could just stare at it and keep finding new things which I think is a good sign of a great piece of art. I’m really glad I went to see this exhibit it was a great way to spend my day and get some homework done at the same time!
