I loved watching this movie. It definitely helped that the two main characters were played by Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet who are both awesome actors. I chose this film because it's about a classic children’s story we all know and love. I remember watching Peter Pan as a kid and reveling in the idea of living in Neverland and never growing up. In fact I still wish such a place existed. This film was based partly on true events so it was great to get to know how the author came up with such a fantastic and timeless idea for a story. I wonder if there really was a boy Peter who inspired the playwright J.M. Barrie. The fact that this story was based off real events brings even more meaning to the classic story for me. I think this is probably why it became such a great story. I know that when I tell stories from experience and my own emotion they tend to be my best. This author was greatly inspired and this is translated into Peter Pan. The little boy who played peter in the movie was also exceptional. The scene where he rips up his journal was so intense. I felt his pain and it was such a moment of sadness when the little boy decides to give up on his story and grow up. This movie was bittersweet and brought in such a broad range of emotions. I definitely have to own this one.
