  "Sweat"
I decided I wanted to start my trip early and visit a few places not so far from home. I've always heard about Florida. Many people visit the sunshine state and I thought it would be a good preview to my trip to Maconda. Florida definitely has a lot of sunshine and a lot of HEAT. The trick to staying cool is to eat watermelon. While I was there I had an encounter with a rattlesnake. I’ve never been so scared in my life. My instincts told me to run and running is what I did.

     "The yellow Wallpaper"
I had enough of Florida after that snake so I decided to take off and head in the direction of a town called Jefferson. I heard there were some beautiful homes there and if I was lucky I could get a tour. On the way I spotted an intriguing building. It was a large building which stood alone on an island. I had to investigate. One ferry later I found myself standing in front of a large asylum. I was hoping it was some sort of abandoned house so I could go exploring, but the barred windows and staff had me thinking it wouldn’t be a good idea to explore.

                   "A Rose for Emily"
I left the island and headed back in the direction of Jefferson. This was a beautiful town full of huge colonial style homes. There was definitely some wealth amongst this town. There was one house that was just amazing! I have a picture. I did get to see inside but it took some persuasion on my part. I spent a few days in town and soon I’ll be heading on my real trip.
