Well, the weather outside is frightful! So the crew decided to get out of the hotel and head east! The goal - Tinjdad, to see springs in the desert and to visit a gallery that we've heard about from the owner when he helped me and my co-worker find the insurance office two weeks ago.
We arrived in Tinjdad and found the gallery which is on the main stretch of road, it was beautiful! The art and the artifacts that were there where incredible. I bought a painting by a local artist that I absolutely love! But there was so much more there, many rock samples and many old swords and guns and armor. Plus many masks, textiles, pottery and old antique furniture.
After the gallery we went for lunch and got a bit of the tourist treatment on the prices, but we moved on and went outside of town to visit our friend. The museum is beautiful all on it's own. It's in the middle of the open desert and is just spectacular. Our friend has been building it for three years, all on his own. He managed to get the land rights from the government to build something for people to see, to learn about the past and to visit the beautiful springs that come out of the desert.
Here I bought two of his calligraphy paintings. They are both so beautiful, and mean more since meeting the artist. This man is a true inspiration and has worked so hard for something he believes in.
I think I will now let the pictures do the talking for me. I hope you enjoy it.
