I woke up late, 1 pm to be exact. I guess the 13 hours in the Casa airport and the jet lag got to me ;)
When I got up I grabbed some coffee and my camera and got some shots in of the hotel and my new surroundings.
I was again stuck by the beauty of the landscape. The views are amazing and I can't wait to further explore this city.
All the books about Morocco call Er-Rachidia the boring city that makes a great rest stop on any journey through the country. This might be the case in comparison to the other tremendous cites in Morocco, but I think this place is amazing!
Er-Rachidia was built by the French as a military outpost. Much of the Moroccan military still is based here.
The people are amazingly friendly - I think that is the case for the whole country. Er Rachidia is right where the Atlas mountains meet the Sahara desert. This makes for some fantastic views. The airport that we are operating out of is the perfect venue for this incredible landscape. I could literally walk to the mountains turn around and walk in the sands of the desert. I think it's stunning.
