Well.... it's been a few days since we've been able to log-in and blog. Since Quebec city - which was fantastic but HOT and humid. We arrived late in the afternoon with just enough time to get our bearings and check out the sites. There was a festival of some kind going on so there were lots of buskers and a steel band that closed down one street that was packed with people. The hotel that we stayed in was one of the oldest in Canada, with a restaurant that was THE oldest in Canada. We toured the Citadel under extreme heat and humid conditions, talk about butt sweat... we ate out on a patio even though it was hot, we just had to do that, so a nice cold beer and slushies were enjoyed. That evening grammy took the girls on a ghost tour of Old Quebec and got caught in an evening thunder storm. Lots of walking and new sights ending with the lights out in the old anglican church. Hayley was spooked...
Next day on to the Gaspe peninsula. Stayed in Saint Flavie, in a small room with one bed and two cots, but it beat the dingy first place that we looked at. I guess we should have booked ahead. But what fun would that be? The resident artist had cement and wooden sculptures placed out in the water, it was kinda cool to see them vanish with the high tide. We had dinner looking out at the sunset, and then went for a walk along the beach with Hayley and Justine taking out their frustrations on each other with the "stupid hammers". Made quite an impression from Alberta... after our free breakfast the next morning we headed on to Percé. We phoned ahead this time for a place to stay and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived that we were right on the beach with great access to the famous rock. We walked around the point, and it was funny to hear the girls discovering all of the sea life. "Look mom, a snail!" I've never seen anyone sooo excited to see a snail (there are billions of them). Hayley tried to sink a jelly fish with a rock, and picked up every dead crab along the way.
With two days to get to PEI, we decided to stay in Beresford NB, just outside of Bathurst, which came recommended by the tourist information.... the airconditioning unit decided to break-down in the middle of the night, it sounded like a jet engine, and we thought grammy snored loud, haha, so it was loud and hot and muggy and terrible to have not gotten much sleep. Needless to say we complained and didn't accept the $20 discount offered by the motel. Up at 5:30 am and having lost 1 hour in the time change did not make us too happy. So after comping us the room (thanks) we hightailed it out of there and are now in Moncton sitting out the rain from hurricane Beryl.... first day in 2 weeks that we've really seen bad weather. But this rain gets you soaked and you stay soaked... oh well... it's on to PEI tomorrow and we can't wait to cook our own meals for a change.
We've been very well entertained by the kids. They fight about every day around 3:30 in the back seat, and grammy and I have been treated to some choice name calling like pickle face, blimp butt, I hate you... we've threatened to let them both out, but somehow they just need to get the stupid hammers out and let each other have it, once the pent up energy is out everyone is much better. Might have some seafood again tonight for supper, might as well.
I don't know if we'll have any internet connection in PEI, we'll try and keep you posted.
Hope everyone is well, we're still having a great time and can't wait to get up and see what each day brings.

I'm really envious
Sounds like a good time by all. Enjoying the play-by-play (or is that blow-by-blow?).
