The weather has been awful right from the word go today. The rain and wind was so bad that we had to forego the treetop walk in Denmark, due to safety. Gutted but don't fancy being blown off a swing bridge at that height! Instead we drove up to Margaret River where we stopped at lots of little beaches as the weather improved. Or so we thought. As we were walking along Surfer's Point Beach the heavens opened and the hailstones came. And we are talking huge, heavy hailstones in 80km winds all of a sudden. We clung on to each other and tried to run to the shelter of the car but this proved difficult as it meant running against the wind and therefore into all the hailstones. We had to cover our eyes and fight to reach the steps back to the car. We clung on for dear life and managed to reach the dry car just as the storm ended. Super! We were now very wet and very sore! To cheer ourselves up we went to a winery for free wine tasting, which was all very nice, and then to the fudge factory for free fudge tasting. That was yummy!
Tonight we drove North of Margaret River through Bunbury and up to Preston Beach for our third night of camping inside our hotel tent.
