It's all over - after 4 months away we have finally returned to the group of islands known as the United Kingdom.

After our trip to Nikko we went back to Tokyo and stayed in our Ryokan. It was a very cool place. They gave you a pair of slippers each and a Yukato (a loose cotton robe tied with a cord). The bed was on the floor and the room had a low table and chairs with no legs. For Y's birthday we went to find a 'posh' restaurant. We ended up in a very un-posh place where they didn't speak any English so we didn't know what we were getting to eat. We ended up with Yakitori (meat on sticks) and offel soup. They did discover it was Y's birthday so she got a birthday cake made with salad and Tofu and had happy birthday sang to her!

On our last day we went to Tokyo Disney Land. It was very busy and very cheesy, but good fun all the same. All the big rides had 2 hour queues so we just went on little rides/attractions (with commentary in Japanese).

The plain ride home was rather tedious (12 hours) and we arrived at Heathrow tired and fed up (don't want to be back!). The train to Bath was a rip-off but it got us here.

Anyway, this is the end - thanks for all of you who have read about our trip. I hope we haven't bored you all too much (especially our mini-golf antics, which Ed won!!!!) and you never know, there may be another in the not to distant future. We still have South America, North America, Australia, Africa........

Welcome Home!
PS The mini-golf contest should be considered an honourable draw (as the guest player possibly upset the equilibrium!)
PPS You can have your toothbrushes back in Bordeaux...
