¡Saludos de Cuenca!

¡Qué bella esta ciudad! La arquitectura, las iglesias, las artesenías...todo está bien bonito...

So, I spent the morning and afternoon hours today wandering around the beautiful city of Cuenca. Around every corner there is an incredible church standing as gracefully as it has for hundreds of years (they say there are over 50 in Cuenca). The streets are cobbled and the buildings are reminiscent of both Spanish influence and ancient Incan presence. If only I could stay! However, I will be returning to my lovely pueblo in the hills tomorrow morning (not a bad trade).

Speaking of Cerro Azul...

The clouds have begun to settle in for the summer and the mornings are bit cooler, but I am loving every minute of it. I am continuing to spend Monday and Wednesday mornings at the school. Perhaps next week will be starting a unit on nutrition as the garden will finally be planted! The book club is progressing...we have already read 5 chapters and the conversations are flowing.

For now, that is the extent of my working projects. However, I am also integrating more and more each day. Last week I went fishing...Ecuadorian style. Had NO idea what I was doing, but certainly enjoyed the time by the river chatting it up with my fellow Cerro Azulians!

Well, I should be on my way. Enjoy the photos of Cuenca and I will be seeing some of you very soon!

Chao,
Lisa
