Today we flew to La Paz, Bolivia leaving behind the balmy winds of Santa Cruz for the near freezing temperatures of the capital city which sits at over 11,000 feet in the Andes Mountains. Brad Hallock joined us for this leg of the trip to learn more about ECS as Jim teaches a Saturday seminar to Emmaus Regional Director, Correctors, Promoters and those interested.

Having been warned by various missionaries of the unpredictability of Bolivian highways, dut to the political situation, and buses, due to the drivers, we chose to fly this leg (the only flight between Buenos Aires and Quito). It turns out to have been the leading of the Lord as the roads are blocked to La Paz by strikers. Also, the road we went to Santa Cruz on is blocked, so we are thankful we got there without delay. We leave La Paz by ground for Puno on Monday, so are praying that there won't be any incidents along that road to slow us down.

Long trip ...
Dear Flems
Just read some of your blog posts and watched the nice pictures.
Be assured of our prayers.
Please give greetings to your family and also to all the ECS colleagues.
Whenever you do a trip to Europe, take a break at our home ;-)

Yours from Switzerland
M.
