At an hour and a half before sun rise, the alarm in Jim's Palm sounded. We were off and running. Well, Jim and I were. Samuel was shortly after that, but the girls struggled to conciousness. We took a bus from the terminal around the corner from the hotel to Colonia where we got on a passenger ferry to Buenos Aires.
We are staying in what Jim called a "funky" hostal. It definitely is. Small rooms, cook your own lunch and wash your own dishes. But it's clean and inexpensive.
Although the calendar says it is the first day of winter in the Southern Hemisphere, we had a clear, sunny afternoon for sight seeing in Buenos Aires as the pictures show. Since they are worth a thousand words each, I'll let them do the talking.

First Day of What?
Hey gang!
I've been following your trek...this travel blog was a great idea. Is the whole family going to be celebrating birthdays on this trip? Sure seems like it!
Today is our first day of summer, and it has already been hot. We've had days in the low 90s, high 80s. Hope your trip doesn't include foul weather.
Praying and following the action throughout South America,
Jim and Susan Price
Birthdays
We're all done with birthdays, though Samuel does have a 'half birthday' on July 4. Since it's so close to Christmas we told him we'd get him a nice chess set on this trip. So guess we'll sort of celebrate that day.
Thanks for praying and following us. We appreciate it and need it.
