Jim went to the Emmaus UK annual conference for people who are interested in the ministry. There were about 40 people attending the conference which was held in a castle built in the early 1800's by a wealthy mill owner and now a hotel.

Rob Tyler and Jim went this time because David Thompson, director for 16 years, is retiring and Alan Price is taking over as the new director as of November. They were able to have a meeting with their board of trustees to discuss how ECS USA can help in this time of transition. Alan comes to Emmaus with a business background and will be a valuable help to the ministry.

Saturday was a free day for Jim as his flight to Belfast wasn't until evening, which turned out to be of the Lord. Colin Lancashire took him to a missionary conference where one of the speakers was Peter Andrews who was there with his wife Jenny. Peter is the Regional Director for Emmaus in Rwanda and Jim was able to have both lunch and dinner with them and learn much about how the ministry is going in that part of Africa.
