An earlier start to the day with breakfast at 0700 hrs. Woke earlier to see the sun rise and herons flying over head. 0815 hrs bade farewell to the camp crew, a couple of whom hitched a ride on the bus. Today we complete the last quarter of the clockwise journey around Issyk-Kul. Here there were quite a few resorts - some multi-storey - including a quasi yurt camp, so tourism must be fairly healthy in this lake. Was told Russians like the beach in summer and skiing in winter.
At 1115 hrs stopped at same restaurant as outgoing journey for the same food. After that, stopped to buy fruit (melon, grapes) along the road, and we were back in the city by 1400 hrs. Group were shopping while I settled payments through the bank. I think everyone went to the departmental store in the afternoon before dinner. It never fails to amaze me how some people lag way behind during the trek in the mountains, but when it comes to walking to the department store, I have trouble catching up.
Tonight we decided, on the advice of Olga, to go for dinner in a "French" restaurant Riviera. It was walking distance, and took an eternity, for a hungry stomach, waiting for everyone to wait for Olga or Lorena to translate from Russian menu and then decide what to have. I ended up with emaciated lamb ribs with chips. It was also Siew Mai's birthday and we had cake, while Olga presented her flowers and a pendant.
The pictures and video are of the following night's dinner as not many photos today.
