After a breakfast of pancakes and eggs, we loaded a Russian truck with gear for our trek and camping. The new crew were:
Olga - chef
Kursant - guide
Kappor - driver
Alik - assistant
The truck dropped us off at the head of a trail, with the intention to rendezvous us for lunch somewhere around 1300 rhs.. 1015 hrs we started uphill trek in fairly open country. As we wound our way up a pass, it got very windy. By 1430 hrs, we were no where near our lunch spot, and had to negotiate a steep and tricky descent to a valley. Halfway down, a stampede of goats and sheep appeared from the same direction and making much faster headway than we did. We all gave way to let them pass.
1600 hrs - finally stumbled into camp for "lunch", where the crew had already set up our tents along a creek. The area was grazing country for hundreds - do they count their sheep? - of goats, sheep, horse, cattle. Took a walk to view the sunset at a vantage point allowing east and west views. A man on a horse came up to say hello, or at least that is what I assume since there was a language barrier.
1900 hrs - yes we were hungry enough for dinner.
