I headed North on Highway One to Half Moon Bay, which is close to San Francisco. It was overcast, but still a nice drive, with the ocean on one side and lots of little farms on the other. And, lots of wild flowers.
I stopped a few times for small hikes, and to explore the Pigeon Point Lighthouse.
I got to Half Moon Bay just before sunset, and found this store called "the paper crane" that Marci would love.
Half Moon Bay had its annual Christmas parade the night I stayed there. I got a front row view of the parade from the restaurant where I had dinner. It consisted of two floats, followed by the high school marching band, followed by a bunch of people walking with their dogs, followed by a bunch of people just walking. I stayed the night at Zaballa House http://www.zhousehmb.com/, where I had the best breakfast of my trip.
