Masada: big, fortified, majestic, enigmatic (site of a mass suicide to avoid Roman capture), ingenious (water collection systems), perched on a table-like mountain overlooking the Dead Sea and desert.  the pictures say it best.  magnificent.

Dead Sea: novel, harsh (it stings really really badly in all the wrong places), sulpherous (the mud baths), old quickly.  5 minutes in the sea was enough.  the mud was more fun.

That's it.  See the pictures.  Both were pretty cool.
