Got to the airport early and did some duty free shopping (and by shopping, I mean looking because there was nothing better to do). I took a while to get through security because the guy in front of me was carrying 300,000 Euro in cash...which raised some eyebrows. My Austrian Airliens flight was actually operated by Lauda, and we had a crappy old plane. Flying into Cairo was cool...huuuuge city...and I got a glimpse of the pyramids (or at least some pyramids).
There was a guy to meet me as I got off the plane (which was AWESOME) and he wisked me through customs to my driver. The roads in Cairo are insane, but only slightly worse than Honduras, so I wasn't really phased when cars were driving 5 abreast in 3 lanes. I'm at the American University in Cairo right now, hanging out until Katie finishes class. It was kinda awkward walking into her class while it was going on, but that's ok...makes life interesting. Photos in the older blogs coming up next!

snow and deserts
Yo ben
Glad to hear you survived those brutal 5C temperatures within losing any limbs. Did you ever get a jacket? I guess you can use some warm weather for a while.
It snowed in Boulder today. brrrr
