Today we jumped on a local bus and headed to Santa Monica Pier. We had a bit of a craving so we figured we'd have a yummy hot-dog for lunch. Unfortunately the food on the pier wasn't the best and our hot-dogs looked like they had been made on one of those home hot-dog makers. To top it off the wind blew all of our chips away, much to the delight of the seagulls. With our yuck lunch eaten we walked along the shopping malls, feeling really daggy as everyone was dressed up whereas we were still in our backpacking gear (there are only so many changes of clothes you can carry, as you would have seen from our photos). Santa Monica Boulevard was interesting, but we decided to walk along the beach (it was really really wide) down to the Venice Beach area. At the famous Muscle Beach there were heaps of buff guys all posing in the sun but the best part was where there was a talented group of rollerskaters and bladers dancing in time to music. The tricks they were performing were great.
